Everything’s New!

The New Year gives everyone the creeps! Why you ask? Because New Year is supposed to be the time where one is supposed to change. J The time to say good bye to all the vices, sinful over eating, unfaithfulness (oh yes!), and even tardiness. It’s the time to change for the better.

And most of us are afraid of changes because our routines bind us to a feeling of security. I for one feel so comfortable with “something” that there are times when I see no wrong of doing it. And that is how we are. Bonded.

But then again,

“An optimist stays up until midnight to see the New Year in.

A pessimist stays up to make sure the old year leaves.” - Bill Vaughn

Let us celebrate our 2010 for it is/has been/and will always be a part of who are. Learned from the things that are ought to be changed and love the things are worth loving.

Welcome 2011 with hope! For we cannot fathom a life without it. :)

Serve more, love the dream giver, give praise and let us keep our relationship with the Lord or better yet, be fruitful in it. :)

Love in its finest

At some point of everyone’s life, they love. They give and have received love. The kind that surmount over the most crucial days. The one we give to a stranger, the one we give our family, the one we give to our neighbours, the one that endures pain, the one that requires patience. Everyday, we love. J however it is rooted, we give and have received love.

We love because we have received love. We cannot give anything unless we have it right.

But most of us love because we expect to be love in return, and this love, we still divide it into two parts. One is for us to keep and to rely strength upon, the other half is left to be given back. That is how we equate love. That is how we do love.

But this system has its problem. This system DEPENDS on how much we have received; if we received little then we give half of that little. Thus dividing love, thus loving little.

This book inspired me to write such. J

We know we should love, we have been told to do so, so many times. But doing it is not that easy. How can you love the unlovable? How can you be kind to someone who have offended you? How can you still love someone who have cheated you? How will you ever love those you are unkind to you? How do you love the moneygrubbers and the backstabbers?

This is how we should love according to Him…

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.

I personally could not meet this standard. First, Margie is not patient, Margie is not kind… (I will not continue, you get the picture!)

But rather than reminding us how we cannot produce that love, let it remind us how much God loves us. The kind that we receive everyday.

Jesus is love – right? Then lets do this. Let’s insert Christ’s name in place of the word love…

Ladies, think about the movies and the novels you once loved. From Titanic, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Rapunzel, my all time favourite; Anastasia. The novels, Sense and Sensibility, The notebook, and so many others! See the heroine in each story, all princesses… if not, they are all princess-like right?

Wonder why we love them? Why we cherish their story? Because we too long to be treated like a princess, be a princess, to be the beauty, abducted by the bad guys, fought for and rescued by a hero.

Almost every girl once played the game “kidnapped and rescued” – or some version of it. Like the princesses in each tale – we wanted to be the heroine and have our hero come for us. I simply want the feeling of being wanted and fought for.

But not everyone admits. J Most pretend that it is less than it is. Why? Because we wanted to be called strong rather than emotional.

I belong to Jesus

I grew up in a religious and traditional family. I was used to wake up early on Sundays to attend the first mass in the morning. I am used to praying the rosary almost everywhere, inside a jeepney, when I am about to sleep, whenever I get bored *yes... *whenever I am bored... and most absurdly was, even when I ride a motorcycle...

I pray the novena when I wanted something from Him... I pray twice as hard if I really want that something.

Everything was a routine... a routine done without thinking, without the presence of my heart.

Then I started to crave for more. I hunger to know Jesus, to know the father more. I want to talk to Him personally, to share everything. Not just pray for things I wanted to have, or for breakthroughs I wanted my life to have.

Before, I wanted to be able to know God more than I know myself... But I learned that He knows me more than I knew myself from the very start. I run away from Him most of my life and He in return, hugs me tighter...

I sin... I am stubborn... I rebel...
(If I see someone who is as stubborn as I am, I will let him do whatever he pleases and let him see his faults and then learned from it by himself... as it is supposed to be...)

But Jesus, as I was at the middle of my sins, at the wreck of my stubbornest, at the consequences of my rebellion, died for my sins... ‎"His love endures forever" (Psalm 136:26)

I was overjoyed, I could not believe someone will give his life to save me from my sins. I wasn't sure if I am worthy of it, the purest of pure, the one without sin will willingly want to die for me? Sino ako?

Then realization hits me... or should I say, Jesus' love hits me. :)

I am still hungry, I am still craving to know Him more, I want to know my saviour, my redeemer...

That's why I'm praying and I know He will answer according to His will, that I be given the wisdom to know his will, the heart to understand, and the courage to do them...

When you give everything to God, nothing is impossible..

Lean to love the Dream Giver more than the dream itself, for He dreams far more than we do.

It's almost 5pm, almost time for me to visit the bundy clock . But then heavy rain started to pour outside. Geessh! and I'm really cold, with the aircon positioned just a few meters away from my desk.
So I thoughts that its better to warm my fingers by typing...

I'm tired, i can almost hear my body aching and I can hear my brain's creative juice pump slowly making the ""eekkk" sound. I've been writing scripts since morning and my thoughts are now as clattered as my desk. Come to think of it, I've been planning to buy a fish bowl for my desk, I want a little life in this small space. But so far, time forbids me. So now. (as in right now, I'm changing my desktop wall paper. :) I'm putting a picture of a pretty goldfish on his crystal globe fish bowl. :D

Creative people on the roof!

I work as a creative writer in a government owned television network.

And I would like to share the things we do when... well, when we run out of things to do :)

clicking sounds! :)

I love these people. They are all very creative, talented, and witty. They come up with the funniest jokes! So one day, our senior graphic artist bought this new toy, (canon DSLR (professional camera)! ooohhhh!!! new toy! new toy! so right away we went out and play! we went to the rooftop and what do you know! creative people digging their creative posses!

These people love everything about arts. You should see how our office white board turned into a creative doodle board. :) when one starts by merely sketching a circle, it'll grow and grow to be the universe in a few days. Everyone, one by one will then draw something connected to the circle, and with 12 and more of us here, the possibility of what will come-out of the that circle is endless!

and... yes, even the most creative and most talented "us"

timid and shy

I love my little sister. she is often shy, timid, and soft spoken. Well... Uhm... that was at least when she was five years old.. The first time she learned how to write, she wrote me letters, addressing me as "tete" (her own version of ate which means "bigger sister"). I still remember her on her little pink satin dress while jumping up and down our old sofa. She was fair, chubby and cute. Our neighbours loved to hug her and pinch her plump little chicks. And boy! she loved the attention, she will often run outside our house and go directly to our neighbours front door just to look for familiar faces.

I remembered being so close to her that when my grandma took me to the province of Pampanga for two weeks, I missed her more than I missed my mom. :) and when we went home, I hugged her so tight she cried. haha!

She is no a teenager, and as we all know, the teenage years is the so called don't-bother-me, you-don't-understand-me age. I'm missing the younger her, when she will hold my hand whenever she's scared, whenever she's not sure if she should do this or that, I'm missing the way she jumped up and down our bed, and yes, the "thug" sound whenever she falls off.

Candy doesn't work on her any more, nor does bribery, I think. She's now off to a world where it is really hard for me to penetrate... Her friends are now her "tete"... her soul sisters... I am no longer enough to be the company she needed and wanted.

I knew and I'm praying that someday she will grow as a fine lady. Far better than me. I'm praying that she'll value her education the more I valued mine...

My goodness! so this is how it feels like for mothers whose daughters are growing up...

Grow up Marvinia, my little sister... but never forget, you are still my once timid and shy little sister in her favourite satin dress. I love you. and I will always do...

I’ve been working on something new lately… and I’m
trying like hell to give it everything I can literally give.

I’m into something I’ve been dreaming to since the
day my mind can conceive thoughts. And
now I’m here… its not as easy at it looks. I’ve suffered endless frustrations and unlimited stress. I’ve undergone
countless emotional breakdowns that you wouldn’t even imagine… and now I’m
here…

And everything
is so frustrating…

I thought it will all end here. This part is supposed
to be my finish line, then comes the CBB accompanied by a melodramatic scoring!

But yet the film is
still rolling… WHAT THE HELL IS HAPPENING?

What am I supposed to do now? Where should I go?

I was supposed to stop here!
It was supposed to end here!
Everything should end here
now!

I should be waving my colors now…

Where should I go? Should I go straight?

Should I follow my supposed winning finish line?

Should I make another path?

Now?

Seriously?

This part wasn’t on the plan… I really don’t know the
next chapter.

I’m starting something… just something…

Lets just put it this way…

I’ve gone this far and it will take one hell of that
“something” to stop me from getting my
new flag!

23 years of me

I wrote the above blog days before my college graduation. It was when I realized that life doesn't end after school. I was shocked. I cant believe what was happening then. I was forcefully thrown in the jungle, where I was at the bottom of the food chain. I was the plankton, I was the worm, I was the decaying meat.

It the last 2 years outside the academe, I learned things the hard way... I needed to struggle in an industry where people might eat you alive if you missed a little of their instructions. I needed to prove to them that I too can learn and be a part of the system. And in order to prove myself, I worked twice as everyone should. That's the pain you get when you want to prove your worth.

I am very sad to say that I have changed... In the course of two years, I sometimes forget ideals, I learned to exchange them with realities. Which is how people in my industry does. So you see, it's very hard to work in an industry or in a system if you are running by/on a different network. One will get lost that way.

On my birthday last week I had the time to think how my life had changed. Some are good, but there are also those I regret. Those that I considered "good" I thank God for them. But those that I regret and whereas time forbids me to change, I honestly did a review on what happened, how it happened, and why I let them happened. And realized that I could have drive them the way I wanted to have I given them the right value.

23 years of my life and what can I honestly say I've learned? I have learned to value things with the right scale. Those that in years to come will be worthless I do not give much. But to those in the span of years will still be a part of me, I value them the most.

I realized that I should plan for the future but most importantly I should enjoy today. So that when the future comes, I may say that am proud of the past. There will always be a future, but the present will linger once.

It's friday, I'm in love!

Today is Friday... Fridays are very dear to me. For every friday, I get to see this guy (whom I decided important to me... :p) haha!

Last friday, we had dinner at a Sisig House at Philcoa, you see I get to choose the meal. haha! so when I was looking at the menu, I was quit sure he prefers to have Chicken sisig and too polite to tell me, but stubborn as I am, I chose Tuna Sisig. And he did not complain. I find it sweet. Next time, I will choose the Chicken sisig. (well what do you know, I'm not that stubborn after all.) I think i deserve a pat at the shoulder. lol!

Friday before that, we were at UP Sunken Garden, it's a football field that is (as I've said) sunken. :p We talked about how our week had been, we talked about our co-workers, issues with our bosses, I talked about things that I find annoying, he talked about how he misses the place, I talked about my sister, he listened, I talked about my last script, he listened, I talked about my friends, he listened...

I know...

He's lucky...

I talk a lot. :D

Tita's Garden

This is my second favourite place. I would really love to share it so I used my laptop’s built in camera. (with a poor effect) but can you at least picture out the place? it’s an old terrace, thanks to my lovely tita Alen, who planted the beautiful vine plant on top and the potted flowers, she was able to preserve the beauty of the place. what I like best about this place is the night view. Whenever I sit here at night, I can always see the beautiful stars and the sparkling lights of the city of Antipolo below! Oohhh! Its just so lovely, that I lost the right words to describe it! I hope everyone can see it. Especially those people who are dear to me.

See my cup of coffee!? It’s a perfect afternoon indeed! A beautiful place and a coffee to settle everything!

Typhoon Ondoy Experience.

The world knows that Philippines is one of the country that was hit the hardest by typhoon Ondoy. Specifically Metro Manila, Bulacan, Laguna and Cainta. I myself experienced swimming on floods while carrying my laptop to safety, and i will tell you, IT WASN'T EASY. i cannot see where i am heading at, when i look around, what i saw was a rubble of ruins, and as i try to see the water I'm swimming at, there was nothing but mud and dirt. My feet always bumps into something hard or sharp and i cannot prevent it from happening because for one, i cannot see anything from the mud wrench water. I got bruises all over my body. Good thing the rest of my family were safely relocated at a local school. Thinking about that gave me the strength to ignore everything I'm seeing.

After the typhoon, it wasn't easy going back home. our house was consumed by the floods. Everything inside is gone. My sister's school stuff all gone (i saw her shoe floating in mud) , my moms living room was left in disarray, we cannot even see my fathers gadgets... Then i saw my books, J.K Rowling, Sidney Sheldon, Dan Brown, Meyers, Montgomery, Crichton, King, and many many others, gone... its as if seeing your own children dead... i hurriedly went outside and cried.

I know everything passes. But right there, time stood still. We stayed no longer than a minute yet everything we've strive for a lifetime is gone, overnight.

But i know everything has its end, this too will end.

and everything we lost will come back double!

for we are brave.

we will strive harder.

let this be a challenge.

and we will get through this.

in the best possible way.

Today is not a good day. Period. I’ve been struggling not to cry. I feel so bad. I feel so terribly bad. I will remember this day for the rest of my life. Someone I care about hurt my feelings. And I don’t know when I will be able to talk

to that person again. I know I will be able to forgive, but uncertain when I will forget. It hurt so much. I feel like crying right at this moment… I want to do something that will take my mind off things. I want to run… run as fast as I could without looking back. Then maybe, maybe when I’m loosing my breath, when my lungs can’t take the pressure, when I’m dead tired, I will be able to forget.

Funny how I think of ways on what to do to ease the pain, yet I am

doing nothing… I am so tired even to run… my knees are wobblin

g like that of a child whose about to take his first step… sadly, unlike him, I am not willing to take a step…

From now on I will simplify my life. I will get rid of things that are constantly hurting me, for they do me no good. I am about to change my life for the better. I will focus on my family. I will disregard somebody else’s issues and

look at mine and try to resolve them on the best possible way. I

will not be defeated by myself. I will conquer my fears and work it on my advantage. (That includes always counting myself as a second priority) I will live life the way God wants me to. And I know he doesn’t want me hurting like this.

While the King of Pop is dead, while everyone is mourning and reminiscing. how? all I've been hearing, seeing, and even reading is all about the late MJ. I dont blame everyone. Michael Jackson have been part of their early slash teenage life. Even i, who were born not on the peak of his marvelous career, knew most of his songs slash dance steps! (hell yeah! wanna see me do the moon walk!? HAHA!) by heart...

i remember having a poster of one of his many concerts. so i guess, yeah, MJ (in a way) have been a part of my life too. I specially love "Ben" thanks to my mom.

I am inexplicably excited about my new borrowed books! Thank you so much to some very good friends! Ate Dinah lend me her classics, the ever ima

ginative and inspiring story of Jerusha Abbot and her Daddy-Long-Legs. Who happens to be her darling in the end. I was introduced to Judy Abbot way back elementary, where I often woke up as early as eight 8am to watch the morning cartoons. Yes, I first heard of the mischievous Judy Abbot through the TV tube. And isn’t it just amazing to be able to read it now!? Haha! I like the way the book is written. The story was told through Judy’s letters for Daddy-Long-Legs. It is a wonderful compilation of all her letters.

Funny but in high school, in one of our book reviews, I did that style of writing… I made a diary of the hero. Narrating every adventure he bravely fought.

My teacher was first shocked and asked me why I did it that way. I always like to do things differently. Call me stubborn, but I don’t always stick to the rules. I sometimes break them. For rules set boundaries, and boundaries limits you. My teacher gave me the highest score.

And enough about me. Haha!

I am just at the first chapter and I’m liking it already. It’s a classic. I love classics!

The way they were told, the way the authors gave birth to the characters and it’s as if seeing the real thing centuries ago. With the puffed sleeves and the sleek trousers to match!

It’s Sunday and I’d love to think that I have nothing to do for a change. Haha!
I’m in my room and I can here little critters outside! Oh, I almost forgot, I have a story to tell…

One sunny afternoon, I was at the backyard when I saw Robbie (a seven year old kid) playing at the faucet, holding a used coca cola tin can.

MARGIE: “ Hello Robbie! Anong ginagawa mo dyan?”

ROBBIE: “ Nilalagyan ko po ng tubig tong lalagyan”

MARGIE: “ huh? Anong gagawin mo dyan pagkatapos?”

ROBBIE: “ Ilalagay ko po sa bubong…”

MARGIE: “ lalagay mo sa bubong? Eh ang init-init ah!?”

ROBBIE: “ Yun nga po, tas mamaya, magtitimpla ko ng kape!”

I cant remember what I said to him after that. I was just laughing the whole time. But I did helped with his little endeavour. I was the one who put the water filled can on the roof! =D

I never had the chance to have a quality time with my cousins. For maybe because my mind is set to a routine that bonds me to it like a chain. From Monday to Friday, I’m off to work from 7am till 9 pm. some are given the liberty to party on weekends, I don’t. But last night I was literally dragged by my cousin at a city fiesta. Where we sang (thank goodness people didn’t threw stones at us) and say, had fun. I really did have fun. On a weekend. That’s new.

Today, my father is making our lunch. This day is one of the few that gives me time to settle and clean my room, and gives me time to write.

As I was thinking what to write next, this beautiful multi coloured bubbles pop-out… and I was so amazed by it that I captured it. It never seizes to fascinate me. It has been my screen saver from the start and I am still loving it for whenever I tend to get lost on what I am doing, there they are! Beautifully cascading at my screen, floating… one of my bosses, Mr. Mike Cohen, once saw it and called my laptop a washing machine! And I answered indeed! For I have lots of laundry to finish with it! =D

As a writer, it should be something that I do best.
But proper words desert me.
The most beautiful adjectives seem at lost.
Inexplicably, unfathomably at lost.
My mind is betraying me. I Write because it tends to increase the experience ten times more wonderful, more intense, but I’m all bottled up inside. As I am writing, my nerves are like frozen strings, too stiff to write yet unnervingly wanting to express…

What I think about love.

I have never loved before. Until now.

Love is supposed to make one feel special. Like living life at the center. Not bothering to look at anyone but your butterfly filled world.

Love is supposed to make dreams come true. Even the most impossible ones.

Love is known to shattered all walls. Creating a more complex yet immense ground.

Love should never be selfish. It intends to give.

I have never loved before. Until now… but why do I feel like wanting to stop.

Love isn’t supposed to hurt anyone. Pain isn’t part of the plan.

I’ve been hurting so much that even admitting love seems like crashing me.

Is it because I’ve been loving too much? Is there such as loving too much?

I know I need to stop. I need to go back to the old me. I like it better that way. No pain, no complications. No agony. No you.

I really need to stop. I tried. No one can blame me, I tried everything there is not to stop. I’ve figured out everything that is possible to continue loving you. I’ve seen every excuse not to stop. But all I’ve got are the wrong signals…

Maybe all is lacking is the fact that I need to accept that we couldn’t be together. That we were never meant to be together in the first place.

That I’m pushing myself too hard on you. When I could be with someone else.

When I should be loving someone else instead of you.

That one who appreciates me.

I just need to learn to accept.

What happened to fairness and goodwill?

They must be avoiding my path these past few weeks. Nor have entirely abandoned other people.

I have always been an idealist.

Trying to view things on a more brighter wall. Trying to see the good stuff behind every person I met (even those that are totally beyond seeing).

But my reality is slowly being ravage by people whom I thought worthy of respect and trust. Sad. But it is true. I am bit by bit seeing things that are supposed to occur only in movies. Super blown egos, unacceptable and unhealthy competitiveness, haughty power tripping, overbearing pride, unnecessary sarcasm and over killed inferiors.

Outside my comfort zone is a jungle full of beasts. Killing and chewing everyone that purposely, even accidently gets in their way. Biting and mauling… slowly killing…

Is this the reality I’ve always wanted? Is the world I long dreamed of being part?

Is this even the real world.

How am I supposed to understand…

where will my adventures be when my mind is cluttered with other thoughts?

I want to be able to share something to the world. Something that will help others through my experiences, thoughts, ideas and even the craziest stuff. Just like what the others are doing to my unorganized, juvenile mind. But i have only been living for 21 years i don't have much to tell, I'm just starting my own journey.

I don't have much to tell...

I want to be able to remember everything that had happened to me. Everything... even the sad ones. For i know they will inspire me later, teach me to pick the right roads and how to make the rough ones better. Knowledge that i can pass to someone who will need it.

But most of all, so that when I'm 50 or 60 and tried to look back to the life I've had...
